Alright I have searched and searched for threads on this, but to no avail. I have a bent front spring on my 1979 traveler that i need to fix. I am having trouble finding scout springs in my area. What other vehicles would have a spring that can be used to replace my stock front spings. More lift would be just fine, but less lift wouldnt work. Any help would be appreciated.

First off, you haven't searched and searched for threads, or you would have found your answer! Second, did you try just searching the web? There are plenty of IH and Scout oriented buisnesses out there who would sell you spings, or possibly find a shop that would build you a new pack. There is a stickied thread at the top of this forum labled "Garage Sale." YOU MIGHT TRY THERE!!!

Any spring shop can make you a new main leaf for ~50.00.
If you want new, just about all major lift kit manufactures make 4" scout lift springs. Even Rancho makes them!
You must suck at the net if you searched and seached

it sounds like he's looking for a spring off of another vehicle that will fit in the spring hangers, that can't lower his vehicle (spring rate??) but if it lifts it, thats ok.
i know waggys dont i had to make new hangers.

I don't know of many "other" makes that used 2" wide springs on their 4x4's that would be up to the weight requirement of an IH.
I know I've seen 2" wide spring on the rears of station wagon's and such, but they are usually longer.
Find a local spring shop, they can typicaly fix it or replace it pretty cheap. Or as others have mentioned, buy a new set of lift springs. You have you choise of stock height, 2-2.5" and 4" springs... just depends on what you want.
Seems odd you can't find any Scout guys in Arkansas.. heck, ain't there even a couple guys on THIS board that are from "there" :D
