: Would anyone here be able to do this?(pics)
Mike Beach 04-02-2002, 01:58 PM Im looking to get some tube fenders and front bumper built exactly like the one in the pics below. All of the fabricators Ive talked to want 1000-1500$ for the job, seems a little steep. Would anyone be interested in doing this? Id be able to trailer it up to Nothern CA. Let me know what you all think

GloNDark 04-02-2002, 02:20 PM 1000 to 1500?? HOLY CRAP!!!
I am in the process of doing the same thing to my cruiser. And it sure as hell didn't cost me $1500. Damn....
Price seems pretty reasonable to me for a professional fab job. I am sure you can find someone to do it out of their garage for cheaper. Try Scott Fabrications, he is in Phoenix, and is a Jeep guy. 623-742-7217.
synds9 04-02-2002, 02:35 PM what are the pros to that? keeping the tire from bending the fenders and tearing them up? *just wondering*

I don't know about this guy in the white TJ, but for me it was out of destroying my stock fenders, and not wanting to pay a ton of cash for new ones that could possibly meet the same fate.
I'll post some pics of my fender (What's left of it) after I rolled in a granite crack, if I had done this before hand there would have been no damage (Except $2 worth of krylon. ;))

Mike Take that $1500, buy yourself a bender and welder and go to town :D:D:D.
marco 04-02-2002, 03:39 PM Maybe they can help:
Moto’ Masters

Rob Park
A.K.A. “Tin Bender”
Skyetone 04-02-2002, 05:04 PM I agree....Even get tube and a HF bender and try it out. SIMPLE JOB!!! the front hoop looks the hardest (asthetics suck )

did you turn over or just lay it on its side? I don't know that that cage would hold up to a rollover without damage, not to say it wouldn't save your ass and keep the drivetrain intact, but I think it would get bent up enough to need some "rework" if you turned the thing over a time or two
It looks pretty cool though.

Well, as long as we are going to keep the record straight, I copied mine from Ian when he was at Extreme Off Road.:D

Ya know, the funny thing is...Rockslut was supposed to buy Ian's but Ian never got around to making new ones to clear the 42's...so RS, made his own....BTW, you outta see Ian's rig now...fawken badass....
Ahhhhh. Be nice to use Roggy's shop huh? I have not seen it yet, but I have heard plenty:beer:
pure-adrenaline 04-02-2002, 09:29 PM my shop builds the radiator protection bar for 75.00. If you can weld it's easy to install yourself. Most jeepers could do it themselves but don't have the bender. So we sell it carry out or installed. $1500 seems steep. Look at some of the stuff we make at www.brownsfabrication.com
rokdog03 07-15-2002, 09:24 PM i would also recommend scott fabrications he built some axles for me and he is areal good guy and his rig is awesome as far as prices go he is pretty damn good desert rat wanted $350-$400 to install a gears and a spool in my nine inch and scott built the whole axle for me for $200 bucks and another number you could get ahold of him on is 623 980 1158
