Wanting to know if you can use hydraulic line for main feed line from tank. I see no problem with it besides maybe the legality, it is rated for higher psi. Is propane hose made of a special rubber compound or anything?

You need to know what the hose is made out of.

I have heard that it has to be butane resistant which is all together different than oil resistant. But I do live in a small town where the sun kills many a brain cell so that info may not be right? I live on the edge so for the 4" piece between the lock off and converter I am going to use #6 hydraulic line!!!! It will most likely outlast the entire drivetrain, seeing as how it is rated for 5000psi and is oil resistant!:p The way I see it they made propane smell like schit for a reason, when I have a deteriorated line that leaks I will know it!! For the tank to the lock off I am using #8 propane hose, it was just to large to work with in confined spaces. Oh and for the converter to carb,...... wel I will keep that a secret!:flipoff2: Good luck brotha, I will try and contact you from the spirit world if I blow myself up, to let you know it did not work!:D

thanks fellas. I am currently running hydraulic line(tractor supply) from the lock off to the regulator. This was a temporary fix that got me to thinking if I was messing anything up. I was wondering if the line would deteriorate and clog anything up. If it won't then it is going to be a permanent fix/ go from the tank to the fuel lock with the hydraulic hose as well. Once again thanks

the hose will deretiorate in time and break down small pieces and plug the filter in the vff the hose wil also (breathe )propane after a while as the propane molecules pass through it
just buy the right hose and be done with it

Hey Jim I am sorry you did not get the jest in my response. But I agree with KY on this one. The hydraulic hose is spendy but the propane hose is about the same $. It is just harder to find. I think a 4" inch piece will last forever does not mean I want to lay awake at night thinking about poor Jim and his family that beat me to Heaven. Do it right the first time, oh and if you do beat me to the after... save me a good spot would ya??! Thanx....

nah, I got the jest of your post, I was mainly asking if the hose would deteriate. It was a quick fix, that I was hoping would be a permanent one.
thanks
