: Weld in V8 motor mounts

I am using a set I pulled from another truck. They use rubber donuts and are getting burned by my headers. I have never liked them. They sit high above the frame, and seem poorly designed. They appear to be similar to landcruiser v8 mounts. Whats the best way to set the motor in my truck?

I am not sure what yours might be, but I was informed to use Landcruiser V8 weld in mounts to put my 350 in my 84 4runner. Obviosly set it as far back and as high up as I could and still be able to decently get to the top tranny bolt and allow for the Dist. But I do have a 3" BL too. Good luck.

Well, mine is a 4.3 But it depends on if you have a body lift, steering issues, where you want the output on the t-case, how much sheetmetal you wanna move... In all, there is no "textbook" as to where to put the thing...

I have those same Landcruiser style mounts. They originally came urethane bushings that have long since turned to goo and dripped onto the pavement. Now I am mounted solid, a short stack of washers replaced the urethane. Been like this for six or seven years now. This is the only pic I have, the mount's weld broke on the trail once.

I was asking how high YOU GUYS were mounting YOUR engines, I wasn't asking how high I should mount mine, It's already in... I am going to fire it up tomorrow for the first time. I just wanted to get an Idea of how the Chevy and Ford engine swaps compare. I just finished my setup tonight with a '90 Ford 5.0HO.

I am forced to use 3" body lift for hood and Header clearance reasons, but I have plenty of radiator clearance with my front mounted distributor.

can't wait to fire it up tomorrow, I will celebrate with:beer:   !!!
