Does anyone know of a good source for the 70 series turn signals? I'm thinking of replacing the turn signals on my 40 when I get to that stage of the rebuild!

TIA,

dont do it!!

they are $45 brand new (not genuine) from the importers and are a better lamp if you ask me, but it makes your ride look to nice and "ricey" and everybody will think you have never taken it offroad

Rick D. can source these sometimes, drop him an email, he might be able to hook you up. Be advised that you need to relocate the hood's side hooks to fit the 70 series lights.

FWIW, I like the look, it's very common in my native Venezuela, where aftermarket 70 series lights are cheap and in good supply.

Yea, I like the look too. I think I originally saw them on a S.Amer. 40. Yea, I know I'll have to relocate the side hooks, but that's not a problem. The whole car is in a million pieces right now awaiting metal work and reassembly!

Thanks for the info! Maybe I'll bid a trip to S. Amer. or to Sidney and grab a set myself.

Thanks Henry and BJ42

i made a bracket off my rad support and used the rally clips they use on rally cars and hold your bonnet down much better than the standard junk (which has lifted on me, due to age etc) and they are stainless and therefore BLING, so best use racing tape, or similar

Sean, I got a pair, new, from Greg Riemer (griemer1@sasktel.net) in Canada for $50. Gonna put them on my 55. I'm following in Terry Holben's (http://www.birfield.com/~morgan/the55guy/index.html) footsteps:

I've found that I'll need to grind just a bit of plastic from the housing where the bend in the lower fender is. Figure I can restore the seal somehow, maybe RTV.

Thanks Morgan,

I suspect they are less susceptible to grabbing stuff on the trail. Each of my 40s has a light that is cracked at the base either from grabbing something or something grabbing it!!

These turn signals are quite cheap here in Pakistan.. If you cant find some there I can look up the price here.. shipping from here to the US is around $9/kg so I dont think that would be a problem.. :D
