I have a 350 TBI and I am trying to replace the original (Harrison)
AC Compressor with a York. I am running into a few problems. The main problem is that the original compressor was attached to a aluminum bracket that also has the belt tensioner pully. To make it work, I am going to need to cut away at the aluminum bracket to give room for the York to fit. Is this a good idea? And how would I be able to attach anything to this aluminum bracket?

Or should I just try to fab up an entire new bracket to take place of the huge aluminum one all together?

Has anyone done this? I would love to see some pictures.

Thanks,

Chris

We are probably comparing apples and oranges but here is a few pics of the bracket for my 4 banger wrangler. Couple pieces of 1/4" plate that was bent to form a hinge type set-up. Pics suck, I know but am not going to unbolt everything for a better view.:D
