$220 for the adapters
$335 for the shaft's (moser)
$free spindle's hub's rotor's caliper's off 81 axle
$11 front inner axle seals to install in spindles
$25 machine work to put seals into front spindles
$13 axle seal's to repack bearings
$15 all the bolt's to put it together with

so a grand totoal of: $619

this kit will also make my rear axle 59 1/4 without wheel spacers

i am going to get FJ80 drive flanges eventually... so i dunno what they run ;)

i should add, this kit uses all stock front axle componant's, no machine work required if you chose to let your wheelbearings run in 90wt

I have seen the FJ-60 hub flanges fail when used in a rear application. Hope the FJ-80's are a little stronger.

SInce dave has pussy'ed out, i guess he was pulling out onto the highway, well, 38.5's and a spool kinda make mr. tires make a weee bit of noise, needless to say dave was lucky and didn't get a reckless just a fix it ticket i think, but talk about a jerk cop, all dave has to do is lightly power that bitch thru a turn and the tires make noise...

SHitty. I have never met dave, but have seen his truck around town a couple of times and on my way to school the other day I look over and see his truck passing(bigger than ever) and next thing I see a sheriff eyeballin the fawk outta him. I knew the prick was going to go pull him over when I saw his blinker change directions. AT least he didn't get a ticket, that is until next time:flipoff2:

If you use the stock rear axle seals & the custom axles were machined to fit, wouldn't this keep the gear oil inside the housing & the wheel bearing grease where it's supposed to go?

Brian Ellinger
04-03-2002, 08:30 AM
Funny, that looks so familiar... Maybe since we've been selling the kit for a couple years, and Ive been running one for longer than that...

Though we don't widen the rear, we supply a lot more hardware, and seal the oil into the diff, and run bearings in grease.

correct, by adding the seal inside the spindle it keeps the 90wt in teh diff and the grease on the bearings.

Sebass - they are not Front Range adapters, there's a long story behind them... and it's kinda painful...

nutsak if your talking about monday of this week, i turned into the automall and got past him :) the fix-it came from the jack in teh box parking lot on teh other side of the freeway the week before! now how do i fix my defective spool :p

and Crash :flipoff2: i had the spindle's de-bomb'ed ;) i saw teh grey clay looking stuff smeared in there to look like grease, you're C4 trick won't kill me!

But it's $750. Ouch. Getting off the rear bearings and backing plates this weekend sure did suck - but it's not a $700 kind of suck.

On the other hand, they do have V6/4cyl spools for $200 now. Brian, do you have the nw marlin 4.7s in stock?

Brian Ellinger
04-03-2002, 08:53 AM
Actually for that kit, to put front brakes on the rear, its 699. The 749 kit puts Supra calipers on that have an e-brake in them. And like I said, we include a lot of hardware, as well as brake hoses, snap rings, etc.

As far as the oil and grease issue, we now don't machine spindles, our seals are mounted in special adapters so there are no wear parts in our kit.

No we have no 4.7's in stock right now, and yes spools are 199.

Let me rephrase the question:

Why did you add a seal to the spindle, when there is already a seal in the end of the axle housing? (2 if you count the o-ring)
Would this not seal the grease in?

Brian Ellinger
04-03-2002, 09:05 AM
The factory seal seals on a bearing retaining collar. Its much larger than an axle shaft, so it cant be used to seal the shaft. The o-ring simply seals between the housing and the adapter ring/backing plate. If you think about oil running down the axle shaft, youll see why you need a seal in the spindle somewhere.

Yep, Price about right for a Full Floater done in pieces.
I think I have about $1500 in my Isuzu Dana 44 FF's. But then again, I ended up using a Warn FF kit for a 75 Waggy and had to machine a few parts to tie it together. So far so good.
My seals are in the spindel also. I ended up having to use some Hi Temp RTV on the back side of the spindle. The gasket just isn't up to the task when it all gets good and warm. Get you some spare seals cuz they are prone to leak. Especially if you pull an axle very often during building. I can ruin your whole day.

Looking Good Dude!!! :smokin:
You'll break your arm off patting yourself on the back if you ever trash a R&P on the trail. Pull the driveshaft and and unlock the rear hubs , toss it in FWD and drive it home. If, you don't have a tow rig that is.

Actually NIC... the FF would be 100 bucks out of the Junk Yard and shipping to the US would be about 500 plus whatever you charge those of us that won't pay you in sexual favors for the finders fee... plus whatever it costs to rebuild the axle (especially considering we would have to explain to the guy at the Toyota parts counter that we do IN FACT have a FF Toy axle)... DSI's solution is still cheaper I think...

:flipoff2:

On the other hand... let me have those adapters for a week and I can have my own CNC copy for a whole lot less than that... :)
