the most logical place for me to put the fill plug was high and protected. i cut out a hole for it and re-installed my filler. to check the oil level in the diff ill use a piece of coat hanger or welding rod (of a wooden stick). i removed the bottom studs that hold the diff in so thats what ill use to drail when necc...

im hard on the bottom/backs of my diffs only running on 36's. they take a beating to say the least. my minitruck rear has cracks and ive almost worn through the houseing. i decided to give up 1/4" of clearance in favor of some better armor. i put one 10"x3"x1/4" plate across the bottom and welded it in..

next was something for the back. i used a piece of 1/4" plate 4" wide and cut it into a "D" shape. (i used a cardboard pattern to get the shape and size first)

tack at the bottom and start beating. weld, beat, weld beat, weld, beat.. kinda fun actually.. hearing protection is a must btw....

added one more piece up the back behind the ring gear..

again, tack at the bottom and beat it into submission with a BIG hammer... then weld
