my buddy has a set of 35 x 12.50 x R16.5 boggers for sale...no one in town wants them cuz of their rim size, but....i'm gettin new rims for my rig and was just kinda pondering about gettin this tire setup...so what are the disadvantages of having 16.5" rims rather than 15" rims....
thanks guys.

16.5" rims do not have a safety bead. they are not a good size for wheeling with low tire pressures. skip the tires. :D

unless you are running toy axles or d-44s forget it. they are just too big. ohh and the 16.5 rim is a pile unless you run the ever so rare rim that does have the safety bead.

Hey spencurai, there are 16.5 rims with safety beads? I take it you can't by them anymore, or can you?

Does anyone know if you can get beadlocks for 16.5's?

I have some spare tires that would look sweet on my zuke, but there 16.5's so I didn't bother. But if I could get these rims I'd be happening.:D

You may get a deal on them but I don't think it's worth the trouble. Tell ya the truth I don't think I'd run them if there were free, and that's comming from a guy that runs Boggers...:)

Before plunking down the $$$ for beadlocks, go read the "Beadlock Saga" thread in general4x4 (going on 3 pages now...) lots of good info on who to buy from, and who not to.

Probably also a good place to poke in a question about the availability of 16.5" beadlocks...
