Some years ago I installed a set of Rancho springs onto my 71 FJ40. They were longer than my OEM springs and I had to use longer shackles to even get them installed on the rig. Even then, the shackles were extended beyond 45 deg (prob closer to like30 deg). The forces on the shackles were great enough to keep eating through the poly bushings, and I ended up removing and selling the springs. Now I'm getting the itch to lift again. Are there any springs that fit better? Has Rancho changed the spring lenth? Anyone else have this problem? This happened way before there were all these internet resourses available.

i have the 2.5" lift and mine are fine. the shakle angle is ok, but not as extreme as you are talkin about--so they musta changed it.
