: HELP with ARB ignition switch

I have the entire ARB wireing done, except the two wires coming from the switch to the ignition and the illumination.

First off---where the heck is a wire for illumination. Where to start the hunt?

Second - there are two wires coming from the ignition, both are green/white. One has little red dots going down the wire from time to time. Am I right, I need to splice into the one with red dots?

And the ARB kit came with only one parallel splicer. A little plastic do-bingy with channels for two wires to lay parallel. When you close the plastic do-bingy, a wire peirces both wires, making a connection. But now you have a wire hanging out the other side of the splice (from the switch)

And why would there be only one of these do-bingies if there are two splices that need to be made.

No where online, or in any of the directions does it address how to tie into the igintion and illumination.

For illumination you can use anything that is illuminated when the parking lights are on. The wire *to* the dimmer on the dash is a good source for starters... but it's not usually recommended to use a wire from the gauges (after the dimmer knob).

Buy a voltmeter. You'll get more than your $$$ worth out of it if you do much electrical work on your truck... all you have to do is oke around in the fuse box for one that's only hot when the ignition is on... or when the lights are on... or...

you can splice it into the ignition and illumination wire from the stereo.

And the simplest source for ignition-hot current I know of is the cigarette lighter.

Best thing you can do is get rid of the factory switch. It's a major pain in the ass. Buy a lighted toggle on/off switch and wire it in. Simple and your done. My factory switch was bad from the ARB box it came in.

Now because when you have to restart the truck (say I stall) the power is cut for a split second when turning the key. Will this disengage the ARB Locker?

no, the little tank on the compressor has enough air for about 3 cycles of the locker.
