I know the twin stick thing has been covered to death, and this may not be hardcore tech, but here is my project on the install of the J.B. Conversions, http://www.jbfab.net/ , Scout D300 Twin-Stick conversion:

This kit is *supposed* to be specifically made for the Scout D300, but it did/has required some customizing. It also mandates a removal of the transfer case from the vehicle...unless you drill a good sized hole in the transmission tunnel. Which I was tempted to do after I installed the D300 the first time to replace the D20....only to find that the twin-stick fulcrum bolt cannot be installed with the t/c in the Scout. Great....grrr..

Business end that the D300 bolts to, and a shameless plug for the RPT Tranny mount. Great product.

Here is the twin-stick installed on the Dana 300, with the sticks custom bent to work in the Scout. I have a 2" body lift and poly body mounts, FWIW.

Fulcrum up close. I added an extra washer for clearance reasons to the H-N-L shifter:

Clearance from transmission tunnel that allows use of stock shifter hole:

Had to remove the passenger side exhaust to make it work.

Here are pics of the installed product:

I'm happy with the product. Wish the sticks were longer...but that's part of the 2" body lift. Easy to reach and shift. Nifty sticker for the shift pattern too.

Would not say its a bolt on product. (You gotta pull the t/c out....unless the BL caused the bolt install issues.) I think no matter what the stick would need to be heated and bent.

Good "bolt-on" product as far as a Scout goes though. :flipoff2:

if you really wanted the sticks to be longer you could by some more solid steal bar and machine the inside of it to screw around the top of the shifters then you would have some longer sticks... my np 205 twins sticks stick out plenty, but then again i only have a 1 inch body lift

my .02 cents

Have you wheeled with it yet?

I know that in *my* rig I would not be able to reach the sticks if they were that low and straight up...I would have to ask the passenger to shift them.

With shoulder harness on and or with regular wheeling you might find that you will be lengthening those sticks...the more front digs/burns you start doing or Rear Low driving on the trail the more shifting you will be doing. Lots of bending over to touch the knobs...

Looks like a decent product over all though...

Yes.....I may have used my own shiny self cutting screws though....

I am mainly a web wheeler....there I said it. :D

I may pull them later on and add to the stick lower down. Do not like the idea of the funky looking add-on where I can see it and be pissed every time I look at it because I knew I could have did a better job with the install.

I've been practicing on the street "speed" shifting it....and it does take some getting used to.

I had to heat and bend the sticks lower point and upper part of the sticks b/c they were hitting the passenger side of the stock shifter hole.

I have been told that the scout 300's have a different clock downward than the Scout D20's. This could be the problem. Maybe someone will chime in. Doug Scott, TN's resident Scout expert told this to me the other day.

Maybe that's why the sticks were hitting the passenger side.

I'd like them longer too....even without a body lift.

Also should put in the instructions that you may have to remove the t/c to install. I did....but again, that may be because of the bodylift.

My thoughts. Good product.
