I am interested in putting the WJ steering, knuckles and brakes on my d30 on my XJ. The posts before on this site didn't say anyhting about the brake fitment on 15" rims. I've heard different people/places say that they will/will not fit. I have 15" rims with 4.75" bacspacing. If they don't fit, will grinding the caliper down to make it fit be a legitimate option, or is that unsafe?
Thanks -Nick

My buddy just did this all on his TJ. The hubs and brakes need to be spaced about 1/4 of inch. It was a tad bit harder then all the people that have done the swap with 44s or warn hubs. I wouldnt recomend doing it because the hubs are spaced about 1/4 of an inch. The brakes improved slightly but he probably could benefit from a MC or better booster. Its nice for the crossover but other then that its a pain in the ass with stock stuff. The rim will fit but its super tight. Pussy hair tight. Do cross over on the stock stuff and save a ton of cash. The stuff is pricey. Good luck. rob:smokin:

What's so bad about 1/4" spacing in each wheel? Strength? I don't think that would do that much to it.....but it would cause more fender rubbing when stuffed. I plan to go to 35's or 36's in a year or so, so i want the better brakes. The TRE are supposed to be bigger as well. I can get everything for $350, I think that seems to be a good deal. Will the track bar need to be located above the axle? Thanks Rob. -Nick
