Looks like you dont like bleeding your rear calipers unless you take them off their mounts. :flipoff2:

Any reasoning behind this???????

First thing that came to my mind was "Man, that thing is clean!"...then I noticed the calipers:flipoff2:

Is that the color of metal? I thought it was blackish reddish brown... you know, rust color. :flipoff2:

Dayum! What is that thing? It's silver... any 60 I've ever seen has been this funky brownish color...

While we are showing off axles. Here's the progress on my D60:

I've since added a custom diff cover, prepped for paint and prepared my brackets. I'm really just wait for the beadlocks to arrive before I attach the bracketry. Should be able to finish up next weekend.

that housing looks alittle thin! hope it holds up to bashing on the rocks.

I've been debating whether or not to cut the bottom out and weld a 1/2" plate instead. I'm just not sure yet. Right now the bottom is 5/16" at the thinnest place. It just doesn't seem like there is enough room to put a 1/2" plate in without interfering with the ring gear. I'd rather not shave anything off the D60 ring gear.

I've got a combined diff cover/cover protection that is 1/4" so I think I may be alright.

TJBob I would plate that mother if I were you.

I just don't see 5/16" thick steel holding up to the impact of the rear end of a Jeep slamming down on it, even with a thick diff cover.

Uh, that's a rear end.

Anyway, I'm thinking about it. Just not sure yet. I worry that the plate will take away some of that precious clearance I just shaved. I'll check my measurements again and reconsider.

Sorry, I meant rear and was thinking of my front.

Either way I'd just hate to worry about the possibiltiy of cracking a housing and ruining an axle. That's just me. I swapped in the larger stuff so I wouldn't have to worry.

Come AWN Bob! Plate that sucker. It's not that hard to do, and WAY easier to do it now BEFORE you put it on.

All the clearance of a D30 ;)
