Tranny has high miles-shifts fine but the input bearing seems to have some play. Did this require total case dissasembly-or can it be done externally (pull ratainer-throw in new bearing) The tranny is currently slid back for slave replacement and clucth job-still on the jack.

Not done this myself, but the FSM shows there is a snap ring holding it in place under that retainer plate. Worth a try.
