: D-300 Flat Strap to U-Bolt Conversion?
rochmpr 04-03-2002, 02:25 PM I have a Dana 300 T-Case. I have heard that it is possible to convert the output on the case from the Flat Strap bolt to the stronger U-Bolt.
I would like to be able to run a CV on the front and rear.
Does any one have information for this conversion or part numbers?
Blackjack 04-03-2002, 03:27 PM If you want to run a CV you will need a new yoke, spicer pn 2-4-4341. This is for a 1310 series CV.
rochmpr 04-03-2002, 08:38 PM Thanks for the info.

SonoraBob 04-04-2002, 09:20 PM There was a thread a while back, and I posted the dana part number and everthing. So try a search.
It is the D44 yoke, like mentioned before.
Blackjack 04-05-2002, 10:39 AM The d44 yoke is a pn 2-4-8091x and uses ubolt kit pn 2-94-28x. This yoke will not work if you want to run a CV.
robobx 04-05-2002, 11:37 AM would a yoke from a 97 ZJ NP242 work?
desertCJ 04-05-2002, 04:19 PM So we have 3 people saying that a dana 44 yoke will work with a 1310 cv joint and 1 guy saying NO. Which is it? I need to run a cv shaft and I think a new yoke will be like $50, but what the hay if I can get it from a junk yard for a drop in the bucket! I looked at my 44 front and I don't see why it wouldn't work with the cv cause the holes arent' threaded and a bolt would go thru?

well the post title is about converting from straps to u-bolts. for this yes the d44 yoke will work. if you want to run a cv then you need a different yoke.
desertCJ 04-05-2002, 07:18 PM Thanks for clearing that up for me. I'm still curious what the difference is? I dont make me pull my front shaft and bolt a cv joint to the axle:D Looks like I might have to try it to satisfy my curiosity.
Rock Taxi 04-05-2002, 08:51 PM I heard a bad rumor today that Spicer was discontinuing the manufacture of Ubolt style yokes in favor of only making strap style.
Anyone hear that and can confirm or debunk the ugly rumor?

Will this same part# work on a NP231 font output? The front TJ yoke from 4wd harware is $140 and that seems a bit pricey to me. Any alternative suppliers? I was thinking of calling advanced adapter about this.

What. you have to buy NEW? 4wd harware is a rip off no mater what you buy. a YOKE could be picked up pretty cheap even at an expensive junk yard. its not like they go bad. unless their just broke...
