I finally got my 6.2 crewcab converted from2wd to 4x4 about a month ago..its been running good ever since w/ the ecception of some stumbling every once in a while... my problem is that the block heater is the original and is now leaking more than can be ignored.... anyone remember how these things are held together... If I was back home in my shop Id tear into it w/ reckless abandon.... however Im up in Franklin NC at a National Park Service Training session for the next 6 weeks.....and using the tools in my bag and the side yard of the trailer Im renting.....

Thanks guys.

Usually they are held in the block by a single screw in the center of the heater. Flat blade screwdriver should work if you have the clearance, or maylbe a stubby driver. Do you need a block heater where you live? You could put a regular plug in if not.

the block heaters are in with a single screw with wings on the back side. If the heater element is good it could be a oring issue. Not that hard to put them in.
