Anyone know how to hook up a stock YJ tach that had a four banger to a 350 or would it even work without reading double the RPM?

Probably wont work, the stock tach in your 4 banger was calibrated to a 4 cyl. not a V8, might need to get V8 specific tach or one that is adjustable.

I sent my tach to The Tach Shack (http://www.tachshack.com/) and they fixed it right up for me. I wanted to keep all the stock gauges.

Call Dakota Digital (http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm). They have adapters for your pulse signal ...one of them will probably work for you.

May not be the same, but I was able to calibrate my stock 1990 YJ 6 cyl tach, to my 350 by putting a 5K pot across the "meter movement" wires, and dialing the pot in...it is accurate to my AutoMeter tach...
Pain in the ass getting the tach apart though...
