I don't know to much about it, but a guy here in BC has dual trannys. Has a 22r with a 4sp and then another 4 speed (the one with the removable bell housing) mated up to it (he said it almost went together like butter, used a small dremel and a monkey wrench to get them to work) and a toy case behind it to toy axles. This is all in his LJ. The overall length of the dual trannies though is 53" So if you dont have the length dont even think about it. He blew his reverse in the 2nd tranny. Of course it is gonna be pretty tough on the parts, can you say got low gearing?

We had a competition here and a guy with a toybox had a marlin dual case adapter with a 4.7 t-case in the back one. He did 30 feet in like 1.5 minutes. It took the dual trannies to crawl that distance in 3.25 minutes. It is just ridiculous.

Toyota guys have been running them without problems so far. i belive budbuilt builds a dual tranny adapter, or still working on the protype. When the search gets back up just give the toy forum a search, theres a bunch of info on it.

There's a couple guys who have dual suzuki trannys too. I posted about a guy I knew who'd done it around 4 years ago and someone else copied it after that from this board. I'll try to find the links.:D

OK, I can't search right now. If someone with a red star searches for Tim_J they may find the guy who copied it.

I also remember the thread I started years ago was named something like "Another dual...." so you may find it by searching for that or by looking at my old posts.:D

My friend has been running dual Toy trannies for a few years now. It's not all it's cracked up to be. Realisticaly, the first tranny ends up being used as a range box with only three speeds. (he uses 5 spd transmissions) Using first or second gears in the first tranny eventualy overloads the second tranny and the first thing to go is usualy third gear bearings. In the long run, lower t-case gears and/or duals ends up being cheaper, more reliable and more compact. It makes for good conversation though when people look under his rig to find out why his front driveshaft is five feet long!:grinpimp:

I can't search either whats up with that? If memory serves Tim J runs an SJ410 trans with the bellhousing removed as his reduction box. Has been running it for a few years and last time I heard there were few issues. Here are some pics of a dual toyota trans setup http://bb.bc4x4.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22330&perpage=15&pagenumber=3 .

Jones have you got the dual cases done yet? I'd like to see how that turned out.

My dual case build-up is going slow. Hopefully like my zuke when it's done and installed. :D

I have to get my buddy to do some machine work soon. I'll give you an update when there's something worth seeing. Then you can come over and have a look if you want.:D
