Lockers?

I want to put a locker in the fr4ont diff of my kick, but the only locker I can find is an ARB, and well I don't have that kind of coin. I have heard that you can install a lock rite in the front, how?

Now this is a tech question, I ain't no stupid newbie!:flipoff2:

1+1=3
2+2=6
So I can't do math:flipoff:

Sidekick front diffs use sidegears that have a wee skirt around the outside.... It's the way they are cast...
AFAIK they don't make a locker for those , except for a Lincoln lock
I think you would have to switch the front gear carrier out for a Samurai one then you could use the samurai lock right.
(kinda like what the Sami guys do to use Kick gears only in reverse)

Rocky Road sez they have front lockers on the way...
Lockright's they say.

We'll see.

Yeah I heard something about using Sammi sidegears, I should see if i can swap the two seeing as I have a kick and a sammi diff laying in the shop right now.

Thanks guys, keep the ideas comming:D

Instead of fawking around with that shite why not cut down a Samurai axle to replace the whole aluminum front abortion on the TracKick?

Then you can install any Sam locker you want and not have to worry about anything breaking - except the CV shafts.

Hmm, I just read your post. And then re-read my post. And you know we are going to fawk this guy all up with what we are talking about. :D

What I am saying is take out the front aluminum center section (housing and all), replicate it using a donor front samurai axle. You are still IFS but with steel parts that don't grenade as easily.

You are saying go SAS with Toy axles, no?

LOL That would work to. And yes I'm saying go with SAS. I've seen it work VERY well on bb88's ride.

If I was going to put a sami axle section in I might as well do a SAS. I just wanted to know how you put a god damn:mad3: lock rite locker in the front of a kick.

This rig is my daily driver, I like to go fishing with it and bomb around de-activated logging roads with it. I am not building this thing to take on Moab. Maybe the next rig. SAS 4dr with Dana 44's and a 4.3 V-6!!!!

I admit the IFS in the front of Kick's has it's limitations, but for what i want this one to do, the IFS is just fine.

aint nothing wrong with building your rig for what you plan to do. and personally i think IFS would work better then SAS for boony crashing down logging roads anyway.
