: Stage 2 TJ build up
Drunk Guy 04-03-2002, 09:21 PM Well it is time to go bigger. I was running the teraflex ts4 and 33's, and that has worked for a while but time for full size. I am swaping out the d30 and d35 with full size HPd44 with 5:13's and detroit no slip locker, and d60 5:13 and ARB locker to start. Changing the springs over to the RE 5.5 with 1.5" coil spacers in the rear and 2: spacers in the front, and a 1" body and 1" motor lift. Upgrading to the RE long arms. Now that it going to be flying high it is time for the meats, 39.5x18 boggers on 15x12 with 3" back spacing. Its going to be about 5-6" higher than it is now and about 12 to 18" wider. Will post pics as the work is in progress. I am hoping that it is done for Memorial day weekend at the con. I am not sure how the tires are going to fit but I am sure going to try to get them to. I may need to go with the 38.5x16 TSL.
Great.
Go.
Do it!
No more window love.
cm "say it with me now ... " k
badassjeepguy 04-03-2002, 11:15 PM ohh they will fit, with a sawzall.... :D start cutting, dont let sheet metal limit the size tire you want.... but i would put some ctm joints and warns on that 44
btw i have 6.5 inches total lift with 39.5x15x15 tsl's 3 inch bs should do ya good....
KAcrawler 04-04-2002, 07:16 AM no way in hell i would hang meats that big off a 44. even with all the goodies, why not just go 60?
Drunk Guy 04-04-2002, 10:29 AM i was looking for a while for a 60 and the price of one that was a pile was $1000+, the 44 with the 5:13's and the locker were only $750. Ill just have to be easy on it.
Drunk guy, You might not want all those spacers.
I would say you only need 1 inch spacers rear and 1 1/2 spacers front.
I have a very similar lift. RE 5.5 and 1 in spacer front.
None rear.
1 inch engine,
1 inch body
And my 35's barely touch on full compression.
Just a thought by not having the spacers as you list them you can help your Center of Grav. to stay a bit lower. Youll feel top heavy if you dont. (well you will anyhow but just not as much)
Just thought I would try and help you out 0.02 Good luck.
Drunk Guy 04-04-2002, 06:36 PM Bert,
I don't think that I am going to be top heavy due to haveing full width axles, with 18" wide tires. The reasion for the extra spacers is also for haveing full size, when they are at full articulation the tire is going to be higher than with the 60" axles.
ok, Full width should make up for it. Just thought it was a bit overkill, and give you something else to think about.
But I did miss the full width part. :D You should be ok. :D
Drunk Guy 04-17-2002, 02:17 PM here are some pics

hahahhahahah! i have the same set up will full widths 60's and humvee rims and i am running 38.5 no reason to go that wide and with boggers oh shit....
don't ya know dude
BOGGERS=BREAKAGE
but nice work good luck....:flipoff2:
Jaffer 04-20-2002, 06:49 AM You might be a lot happier with the ARB in the front and a full Detroit locker in the 60 ...

I was thinking about that, but I will just have to make the front a por mans arb buy getting out and unlocking a hub when I dont need it.
The boggers are just on lone untill I can get my own, I agree that they are too wide. But Its all I have for now.
Drunk guy, I see you got the pics up. :massey: :jeep:
Drunk Guy 04-20-2002, 06:46 PM Bert, thanks for the offer of posting them for me. I found the free site and went ahead and did it. Thanks agian.

mccombs07 04-21-2002, 10:28 AM Hey don't even worry about it. I saw a guy one time with the same lift and just the body lift and he had 38's under with alot of clearance.
Drunk Guy 04-23-2002, 05:30 PM Well it is coming along good. Had to machine some new bumpstops for the front. Got the front done except the break lines and I have figure out what shocks I am going to go with, most likely I am going to use the 9012's. the rear is about half way done and shuld be under it this weekend. I can't wait to take it out and break it in. Should be getting more pics of the progress on the site this weekend.
39.5x18x15 will break d60s let alone that d44. when yah get your own tires i would go a little narrower and lighter. i broke a rcd44 on a regular basis(everytime i wheeled it) with 35x16 boggers, i am a little ruff on axles but theres no way yah can get away with it. some 38 tsl are a little more in the d44 leage
