I'm getting ready to rebuild the transmission in my 88 Samurai. I have found many a kit with roller bearings and synchros included, but only two with the needle bearing and no synchros. The main reason for me rebuilding is because of a bad first gear synchro. While I am in there I might as well replace all of the bearings. Does anybody know the Suzuki part numbers for the six needle bearings in the transmission as well as the number for the tailshaft bushing? My local dealership would be a nitemare looking these up!

Thanks for the part numbers. And for future reference, I found that Hawk Strictly Suzuki sells a needle bearing kit for $69.95. Thanks again!

i'm going to be doin a rebuild on my trans, too.. one thing i noticed today when i got the chance to get in 4wd on account of the snow.. i don't feel 4wd.. there's a grind when i'm trying to shift into it while moving which would suggest to me, that it works.. but it doesn't fee like it.. and all my gears hum or grind except 4th..
any info, anyone?

Were the hubs locked?
Not feeling 4wd after shifting into it has nothing to do with the transmision, just the transfer case.

Its generally best to not be moving when you shift to 4hi, and you need to be stoped for 4lo.
