Does anyone know if the gears from a rear dana 60 will work in a front dana 60? Im not sure if they are cut backwards or what? Also, are there different dana 60's or are they all the same as far as gears go?

thanks

Front Dana 60, is it a High pinion? If so, HP diffs are reverse cut/reverse rotation.

the front is a low pinion

then yes it will use the same gears and carriers as the rear, just watch your spline counts.

If its a LP 60 just as well throw it away an get a HP.

That sounds like a good Idea, in what vehicle would I find a high pinion passenger drop 60 front?

There isn't one, unless you re-tube a Ford axle.

if it's coarse spline, i would upgrade the gears now because yokes are not as strong in the coarse stuff...
