OK ...I had this nice little 46 flattie. Did all the body work and got it running real nice. Had a pretty chevy 305 all chromed up and had the Sr4 tranny bolted in with the Dana 300. Had the model 30 front and the amc 20 rear and it was a blast to go screw around in that thing...But then BigjeepinYJ tells me to check out this Forum and then the money started flowing.

So far...summit fuel cell..g-force racing belts..sm465..rockwell case..one peice kit for model 20 rear..narrowed 44 front...smaller tires(yes thats right) and lots of suspension work....I guess what I am trying to say is..THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH.

I enjoy building and then rebuilding...no reall for real THANKS im sure you all saved me time in the long run.

The future...EFI for the 305 or a 96 or newer 4.3

(Everyone in my family thinks im crazy for spending all summer building a rig then only driving it about 2 months and then starting alll over)

not too long ago i had a great running 258 and 33's for about 2 years...then i get talked into an "easy & Cheap" motor tranny swap.....now i have dana 60 rear 44 front and 36s...and will proly be talked into 38's by the time you read this post!

It was a 1980 dana 300 and AA does not make the adaption kits for the short tail dana 300...at least thats what I understood...plus it was cheaper to buy the 465 and mated 221 than to buy just an adapter.

I will have to second that you punks all cost me alot of money!!!:flipoff2: I had a Waggy 44 Front and 0 Rear and an all stock body.... Now I have a chopped front end, AE Comp Corners, 38.5 SX 14 Bolt Rear, Warn Shaft, Corbeau Seats, Fuel Cell, Extended Wheel Base and all other kinds of sh$%. Thanks alot.....

Sell me that 300 I just busted mine and need a 1980 case.

JP magazine I got yesterday says that the AA output shaft will be available for the 1980 Dana 300 soon.

the adapters for the 1980 short shaft are the same as the 81-86 versions. the difference is the tail shaft. you can't bolt the aa 32spline tail shaft to it. all the tranny to t-case adapters work though. i second put the d300 back in.

Don't stop now, buy an atlas!!!

I'm in the same boat, I bought a YJ with 3"B.L. and 33's.
Everyone raved about how "badass" it looked. :rolleyes: Then, I saw what real Jeeps look like here.....:eek:
I'm in the process of making it real, I ran into a guy at the bar, turns out he's from the JU board. He running his mouth about having a kickass Jeep :zzz: Later on he saw mine and about sh!t his pants.......and I'm just getting started :skull:
I'll never forget what he said, "You're POR? Aw, you guys are hardcore." ....... I was proud :D
Hey, well, look at the bright side, It's also a great place to learn how to SAVE money. Hell, I just learned how to do disc brake conversion for the rear D60, instead of a 5-600 dollar kit, buy a $15 bracket, and rob a truck and El Dorado for the rest at a wrecking yard. ..............hard to beat that.

hell I don;t even recall how I ran into this site...but I had 33" boggers....a 44 rear and a 4speed and that was the shit :D Now it's hard to keep up so I gave up :D

ya know what's also funny how times have changed...my parents NOW live in a house about 15 feet to the right of the top pic. That used to be a killer wheeing area now it's ALL houses.
