:roxy: I am almost done with the 85 k5 and it's time to start on the 91 yj found a good deal on a pro comp stage 1 2.5" lift with xterrain 31 x 10.5 tires and looking for opinions on this set up.
I already have 1-1/2" shackles.

I've heard that Procomp sux..but 2.5" should work out perfect..take the 31's and throw them away...Do a SOA on your YJ with the new springs and you can throw on some 36's;)

BTW, ya might want to just swap axles too!

I wouldn't buy anything pro-comp. Most people I know that have their tires or lifts are very unhappy with them.

I had the 4" Pro-Comp lift for years. Didn't have any problem with it. It worked well for what it is. I've got a set of 35" Pro-Comp Mud Terrains and they work well also. Granted, they're not Goodyear M/Ts or Swampers, but then they didn't cost as much either.

A friend of mine had a 2.5 procomp lift years ago. It was perfect for 31s and it flexed/rode well. Its a good "starter" setup.

Pro "Crap" stinks in my opnion. Too hard and doest flew enough. The 4 inch springs for my CJ were too stiff that my jeep qould hardle compress the springs. Swithced to Superlift Softrides and it was an amazing difference. just my 2 cents.

Its OK Lame..paybacks are a bitch :flipoff2:

Honestly though...I like Pro Comps :p My SOA is on 4 inch pro craps and they flex KILLER!!!!!! Only negative to them is they wrap extremely easy. But then, they are cheap as hell to buy and asey to add/subtract leaves. :flipoff2:

Even though I hate to admit it, I too have a Pro Comp 2.5" lift w/ 31's... It rides better than my Jeep did stock, and they flex surprisingly well. I did break a leaf on my rear spring pack, but 4WP warrantied it out, no questions asked. I was back on the road the same day.

For a starter kit they are pretty good.

Well..... Pro Crap is exactly that. I personally had the 4" lift on my CJ. I was out playing in the mud and bent one of the front springs. I called Central four wheel drive and they told me tough luck, so I called pro comp and they told me the same thing. I ditched that crap. That is just one experience with PRO Crap. My Brother in law was running the 4" lift on his Wrangler and the front springs kept sagging. He actually got them to replace the springs twice. However, he eventually got tired of switching the springs and went with BDS springs and hasn't had a problem. This guy is a mall wheeler too. He hits the trail maybe once a year, and the rest of the time is spent on the road. Pro Crap also sells crappy extended brake lines. I have had two sets now that leaked, so I bought them somewhere else.
IMO anyone who likes Pro Crap doesn't know any better so you can't fault them. They will realize one day. :flipoff2:
