ZUK, Rob and myself decided to try to fit three trails in Sunday before last. I left my camera in the tow vehicle so most the pics are just of me, since we weren't hopping out of the vehicles a lot. The only obstacle we'd ended up running in the dark was the last waterfall on H2H... Rob did suprisingly well with his stock height, locked, 31 inch Swampered, 206:1, IFS, 86 'Yota... ZUK and I got in a little "rock crawl pissing contest" and we both lost. :emb4: I took on some significant exo and body damage... ZUK folded his front driveshaft, snapped a Moser short side axle, and in turn took out his front Detroit. :nuke: Fun, fun. :rasta:

Rob on "The Boulders" (Upper Ajax)... Me spotting "Air Traffic Control Style"... :D

Me trying to "hurry" through "Firehole" (Upper Woodpecker).

Me after a slightly more "relaxed" approach to Firehole. :)

First obstacle on H2H...

"Silly Line" on H2H...

At this point I'd had a little too much "seat time", so I let the truck do the waterfall on Upper Ajax... I spotted though. :D

Yes grasshoppa'... This is where we'll be winching you... Uh... I mean... Taking you. :D You won't be running H2H or Axle Alley, but pretty much everything on Upper and Lower Woodpecker have bypasses. Ajax has a couple of things that you'll HAVE to go over, but it's doable...

You'll enjoy it... :) But your truck might not... :nuke: :D

So do you guys know of any other trails or what?:flipoff2:
You should go to the Hammers next weekend. Remember variety is a good thing.

Hey punk, listen here... :D No seriously... Can't make JV... We'll probably do like last year and wait until it's in the dead of summer to go there and be miserable. :barf: I'm not really done with the truck yet and haven't had any time to work on it lately, so FJ is a nice quick trip from Mesa... Still haven't put trailer brakes on the tow vehicle either, so it's a nice FLAT trip too... :D Anyway, let's go run a couple of these trails out near White Tanks when ya get back from Cali...

hey McSoo-

you might need to change out your rear window sticker prior to this weekend, the Yota comments might get ya left stranded in FJ :flipoff2:

did ya get your busted T'bar fixed yet? we doubled back after we ran thru lower Raw Deal to make sure you'd made it out- kinda a wondered how the rubber mallet taped into the A-arm combo did on the way back to Phx :D I guess the only consolation is that ya DID make it further than a stock Cherokee :flipoff2:

just givin' ya a hard time- we'll see ya later-

later

That or we'll just throw a strap on his rig, drag him half way up Axle Alley, and let him decide whether he'd rather plummet down the first fall or end-over on the last. :D

Just alittle friendly ribbing.:D
We can most definitely do some of the White Tanks trails after the Jambo. There's some fun stuff. We'll let ya know.

Yeah, I've been thinking about that.. It's mostly meant toward the Heeps I come across, but I needed something for the other side of the sticker! hehehe Yeah, I got it fixed no problem. You guys got lucky! You went to the right game! I went the next night and man did they get pounded!
On the rubber mallet as a suspension product, it didn't last very long! The whole rubber part disintigrated on the dirt road! I got some help from a passer by who had a saw. I cut a piece of wood to fit in the gap and wow was it interesting driving home... I'll do the whole trail one of these days. I had some friends who ran it with just one locker in a Nissan?!? I'll be out there again...:flipoff2: I'm down here in SV and Bertha's gonna help me break the IFS. So, if the IFS isn't disintigrated by the time I get back up to Phoenix Sunday, I'll go out there and thrash the truck up Axle Alley or H2H.. hehehe Then I'll have crashinaz drag my ass over every water fall UPSIDE DOWN so I can justify cutting the top off as well. hehehe
Thanks for checkin back though. I appreciate it.

Uh, you're WELCOME to try either one of these trails... But I don't think you're understanding the true "size of your truck/size of the obstacle ratio" here... ie: You'd better grab a seat in someone else's truck on these... :nuke:

I was kidding about even attempting those trails...

Bertha never even made it OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, much less to the trailhead yesterday... HAHAHAHA It's that dam curse he has. Vinny bent his tierod on his Jeep and I bent one on the Pathy. Pathfinder gets light duty until axle or CL gets replaced. Stupid Nissan. Let me know if you can help me chop up the Pathfinder this week too..

If you're wheelin' this weekend, I'd wait on the top... A cage should go with the top chop... Are you getting these maintenance issues taken care of before you head out to FJ with us? Back to your question... I'd be glad to take the Sawzall to rig... Just pick up a "rescue and recovery blade" from Home Depot... I don't really have the time to cap any of it off and/or make it look pretty, but I can definitely help you out with removing it... :nuke:

bertha- Hurry up and get your shit fixed for the weekend!!! ZUK's looking forward to "pitching a tent" with you... :D

Yeah, that PF is mechanically sound. I fixed the torsion bar anchors so they work like they should right now. No prob on the capping it off. I can do that at my place. I'm just not allowed to do any of the serious cutting (cops came and made us stop). I'll just put a 2" piece of flat steel on the top of the part that gets cut. I will wait though. That's no problem.
