I've got the drivetrain out of a bud's '91 Crown Vic- 5.0 w/AOD & all computer/wiring stuff.

I know I'll need AA's AOD-231 adapter & to install their output shaft in the tranny. Any recommendations on tranny upgrades?

Whose motor mounts do y'all recommend? I've heard AA's suck & I can't remember if Novak does a 5.0-YJ mount. Anybody know about Z&M? Or is 'their' mount actually an AA? Bear in mind that my fabrication skills & tools are for shit, so while I'm not looking for a true 'bolt in', I can't do some wazoo, one-off, full custom thing either.

Am I gonna need any body lift to clear the AOD?

I know I'll need a different radiator. Any recommendations? Electric fan vs. mechanical?

Finally! :D

As far as the Radiator I used a stock 6cyl Wrangler radiator and the mechanical fan. I tried to use a electric fan but it took a dive the first outing and then I switched to the mechanical fan that I purchased from the dealer for around 50.00. It seems to work well even with the small radiator. I didnt have a clearance problem with the AOD.

Very cool. I've even already got a buyer lined up for my 4.0 & AX15- some lady w/a dying 4-popper.

Doug, if I run the the stock 4.0 (5-spd) radiator, won't I need to run a separate trans cooler? Also, did you do any mods to the AOD- valve body, stall converter, etc?

How difficult was it to tie the 5.0 wiring into the stock harness? Or should I do something different?
