: We rock rules?

Anyone care to elaborate on this rule from the WE Rock web site......

***A cage height minimum of 3" of the from the top of the helmet of the driver to the lowest portion of the halo's horizontal plane directly above the drivers head will be the manditory set standard fro the 2006 season***

How strictly will this be enforced? This one could keep many of us "local" trophy class competitors out for the season.

This has been in duscussion and has been an advisory in our rules for the past 2 years and will be enforced this year. This rule was set for the various reasons listed below:

Roofs (cages and roof panel) crushing down onto the driver

Imporperly adjusted seatbelts and the driver movement in the cock pit due to the seat belt adjustments

All of these could cause neck compression, possibly rendering the occupants paralyzed due to crushed or damaged vertebrae.

The S&N rigs should have plenty enough clearance for this rule.

Maybe if your a short guy or without the helmet....Just a need to know thing, don't want to drag my rig out to fail tech and not get to play.:(

This is one rules they shouldn't let "slip by" We've seen the result too many times of not enough head clearance. Even if it keeps Shannon Campbell out of an event he travelled 20000 miles for, the rule shouldn't be "BENT".
In my opinion, if someone doesn't fit safely in their crawler based on the rules, change the crawler or don't compete.
BTW, the local Trophy guys are the only guys that roll more than me...this rule definitely plays an important role there.

I just measured my jeep comanche and even after dropping the seat 1" to accomodate my lady who also drives the rig my head is 2" off of the roof.......the only way to get 3" would be an exo cage

Put a Scrapper roof on it. How do you feel about window nets Charlie? Will you even fit in the buggy with a window net on the drivers side? :)

The type of scrapper roofs are fine as long as they are made with thick enough materials. That way you don't have to cut your roof off charlie.

Window nets are not mandatory for W.E.ROCK.

Attached is a sample of a scrapper roof. It is basically a raised roof using 1/4 inch thick aluminum.
