: Spare tire solutions?

I have a 96' full size Bronco. I'm starting to do some additions to my rig, nothing extreme as I'm keeping it a daily driver for now. My question is I've read quite a few threads on different sites about the spare tire swing rack on the back tearing lose from the weight of the tire while off-roading. I have 33 x 12.5 x 15/10's on it and don't want my tire ripping the damn support off if I get a little crazy. Question #2: I've not been able to find any decent looking after market solutions for the spare tire, unless I go to an over the top carrier or a tubular rear bumper system. Neither I care very much for right now. Any suggestions for a resolution or links for sites that sell nice stuff for this problem? And is this something I really need to worry about in the first place if I'm not getting into anything extreme?

Thanks,

Ripping the stock carrier off from just bouncing up and down sounds like it wouldn't happen but who knows. Maybe some people have hit the tire on shit and it breaks the mounts.

No worries until you get to a 35 or bigger. Hel I jumped mine many times and the stock carrier held fine.

Cool thanks guys, that's all I wanted to hear and good idea on the tubes, I hadn't thought of that ;)

if your tailgate is rust free you'll be fine with a 35 too.... if the tailgate is getting really really rusty anything can rip/bounce it off

I use to have a 35 inch tire on my swing out. It held fine, but I would not go much higher then that

take it off and put it in the back of the bronco, those things look like shit on the rear of a bronco anyway
