hi,

I have a little rust issue where the boxing on the drivers side, in front of the rear axle. ('80BJ40)
It's quite rusted there, but fortunately the whole rest of the frame looks sound. I intend to galvanize the chassis (and body) and make it very clean, so it will be a PITA.

Did anybody yet unboxed a frame, for repairing/cleaning/... and then reboxed with the original boxing, or something else...?

Thanks and Bye,

Denis

I helped a guy pull the frame apart, took all weekend to grind all the rivets off and drill them out and punch them through the frame but this was to paint his and I would think unless you cold galvize it you should be fine just to etch the frame...make repairs and then galvinize it once you attach all your brakets and disassemble it again....

Coyote, thanks for the info. too much PITA for just a 4 inches portion rusted. I'll just cut the rotten section out with the sawzall, and weld a thick plate in place for repairing the boxing only...

The rest of the frame is definately not that bad...

So I won't need your frame, 55 guy :flipoff2: and you won't have my moey...

Bye,

Denis
