Trying to figure out if I'll have to use them to fit 9012s up front on my SOA using 7 leaf waggie springs.

I'll now go check IH8MUD and delete this post if I find the answer:D

Update, Checked IH8MUD and only found one pic and no writeup of these shock mounts on a cruiser. Brians writeup on his custom shock towers was there but not quite what I was looking for.

Just under 4"...
Depending on how you mount them. Can be more can be less...

Since we're on the subject of Ford shock towers I was wondering... If you bolt them on, is it a good idea to drill the holes oversize and sleeve (as you would for the saginaw steering box mount) or is that overkill?

I have to ramp the cruiser before I'll find out if I need the new taller shock towers:( ...so it will be another week or two before that happens.

Anyway I hadn't even looked at the accessability of the inside of the frame at that mounting point...I don't know yet if you would want to sleeve the frame or just bolt to the outside rail of the frame. I guess I'll find out.

As for the article, Woody, I wish I had a digital camera...or a working camera for that matter (all three of our cameras are now dead).

I am running the 4 bolt Ford shock towers. I drilled the holes in the outer rail only, pushed a piece of wire in the hole and out the frame rail. Using tape I attached the bolts with washers on them and pulled back thru. You can get a wrench in to the heads, just tough to get your hand in the rail to put the bolts in. If you use an impact you don't even need the wrench. They are about 4" longer than the stock mounts and required some trimming of the inner fenders. I have also seen a version that has only 3 bolts in a triangle bolt pattern, so I may have the odd balls.

I have a 4" Skyjacker springs and a SR, I am runing the 5012's in the front. Aren't they the same length as the 9012's ?
