: boyce equipment?
dcmsu 04-04-2002, 03:14 PM What do you think of these guys? They seem like they have a large inventory of decent parts. It says they "rebuild/refurbish" the axles and stuff they sell. Their prices seem pretty reasonable too. Anyone bought stuff from them?
Dan
I talked to them on the phone a few times and they seem very helpfull. But thats all the input I have.
gunracer1 04-04-2002, 03:55 PM Try usa 6x6 they have alot better pricesusa6x6.com (http://www.usa6x6.com)
GloNDark 04-04-2002, 04:12 PM PM BellyDragger, he got his axles from Boyce. :D
jp008 04-04-2002, 06:57 PM I think they are great people. I have not purchased anything from them but I have talked to them quite a bit, They are only 10 miles away from my house.
FCwheeler 04-04-2002, 07:45 PM It looks like they sell good stuff, but the prices are high, because all their stuff is entirely rebuilt. I would definately try USA 6x6 first, as well as local junkyards, you will probably get a better price.
dcmsu 04-05-2002, 08:44 AM Man, where are you guys getting your parts? Boyce prices seemed reasonable to me. Some stuff was high though...
Local junkyards are just about out of the question for me...how about an np205 case thats been sitting out in the mud and rain and of unknown vintage for only $300. What a rip off
I'll have to try usa6x6.
Thanks
Dan
they were good to me with the M/T II's i bought from them. One of them they sent my was sliced to the cords, and they send another one out that same day i call free of charge. The axles look a bit pricey, but good people!
Belly Dragger 04-05-2002, 09:09 AM I haven't been able to use my axles yet..... But.
I would buy from them again any day of the week. Very nice, very helpful and prompt. Promised what they deliver and delivered what they promised.
They made a mistake on the Dana 70 and the ARB, so they ordered new 35 spline axleshafts for the Dana 70 and rebuilt it and shipped them out. No hassles and they took care of their mistake, gratis to me. You just can't ask for much more than that from a vendor.
I give them 5 out of 5 beers

I guess if you can't find a D60 and rebuild it yourself I guess there is a reason for their existence. The prices I heard are unbelievable tho.............their website says 'due to demand, call for prices' tells me so many people either freaked out and didn't call or had heart attacks. $5000 for an axle just is a bit much IMHO, and I just don't think that could be considered 'reasonable'. They are buying up every D60 they can find all around the country too..............smart dudes.

Mine was just a tad over that for 2. D60 front, 5.13 ARB;D70 rear 5.13 ARB. If I rebuilt them I might have saved a whopping 10-20%. And got them without guarranty or warranty.

You done good. I had heard from a member of another board that just a D60 was over $5K.
I called a while back. If I remember right, a rebuilt open front 60 with your choice of gears was like $2300. I could be off a bit, it's been a while.
i ordered my d60 and 14 bolt from them a while back, i was very happy with what i got. they are great people and go out of there way to help yah out. i got my axles before usa 6x6 was around i think or at least before we knew about him here on por. i got the d60 and 14 bolt both with 5.13s and detriots. i also had the rear disc break kit put on the 14 bolt. they also sent the u bolts and moved the spring pads for me and rebuilt everything and slapped new hubs on the front axle. i think i paid $5500 for all that. i didnt think it was to bad a deal, but i didnt really pay for them, long story dont ask.
Curtis 04-05-2002, 08:47 PM Boyce kicks ass. I ordered my Dana 60 hubs and rotors from them on a Friday and got them on the next Monday.
72zebra 04-05-2002, 09:04 PM Ive never bought anything from boyce but I have called them for advice on stuff before and gotten all my answers without being bugged to buy something. And thats a good thing because obviously the good ole U.S. Army doesnt pay as good as some your jobs. I cant even think about buying from them for their prices. Ive gotten everything I could from Daniel (USA6X6) or junkyards and with the help of a lot of good friends rebuilt things myself. Maybe after I retire in 6 yrs. Hell, maybe Im just cheap!! HA!!:D
