SeanP 03-10-2006, 08:59 AM low pinion Ford drivers side? didn't know there was such a beast.
NakedDucks 03-10-2006, 12:54 PM low pinion Ford drivers side? didn't know there was such a beast.
Me either....kinda sounds like an old D44 HD....
Or it's not a Dana axle...
Or...he could be wrong about pinion placement...
Got pics?
Add has been up dated, with more information on the identity of this axle.
NakedDucks 03-10-2006, 06:12 PM Well, the BOM doesn't show up on the Dana Search Engine.....
Nor does it show up in Mr. N's Dana articles under D44 shafts or D60 shafts....
Perhaps someone else can shed some light on what exactly this axle is....
1967K10 03-10-2006, 06:24 PM They were in some Ford Crew Cabs.Like 76'/77' It also probably has external hubs, right? I talked to a guy a while back that has one in a 76' 250 CC.
NakedDucks 03-10-2006, 07:41 PM The BOM #'s for those crew cab axles are:
74-75.5 Closed Knuckle
-603448
-603628
76-77 Open Knuckle
-610008
-603765
-603786
76.5 Crew Cab
-603799
WE NEED PICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NakedDucks 03-10-2006, 07:54 PM If I could post the pics he showed me, I would....he has a D60....drivers side drop, and low pinion, open knuckles, and king pins.....
(I never called you a liar by the way, so quit thinking I did)
Anyway......
I may be interesed in it, but I have a few questions....
-What is the WMS-to-WMS?
-Spline count on the axles?
-Casting # on the knuckles?
-Length if the axles (inners and stubs)
-Internal or external hubs?
Let me know.....
I E-mailed NakedDucks Photo's and It is out of a E250 that is a van, my brother is the person that I am selling it for and he is the person that removed it from the van. It is 8 lug and uses 1 ton hubs, and has the dana symbol cast right next to the number I posted as the BOM. The number was not on the tube it was on the knuckle. It also has 620091 on the backing plate.
NakedDucks 03-10-2006, 07:59 PM OK
The BOM will be on the tube. NOWHERE else...
It didn't show up on search engines cause it's the knuckle casting #
Find that BOM!!!!
WMS to WMS about 68" +/- (it's apart)
Gear Ratio I don't know (my brother may, I will ask him later)
Spline Count 35.
Long side inner 35 1/2" (measured end of shaft to center of U-joint)
Short side inner 19" (measured end of shaft to center of U-joint)
Stub 11 1/2" (measured end of shaft to center of U-joint)
NakedDucks 03-10-2006, 08:18 PM You lost count....it's 35sp
If you decide to part it out, I'd like the shafts...
Jason M 03-10-2006, 09:48 PM I'll give you $500 for it.
I am local :D
Or, you need anything for trade?
GubNi 03-11-2006, 11:58 AM I've seen one of these before. It was about 68" wide and low pinion drivers drop. The cool thing is that there's enough room between the diff and the driverzs side knuckle to build 4 link or other such unlike most other newer axles.
shamus 03-11-2006, 01:29 PM hey how many shafts do you need?
Jason M 03-11-2006, 03:52 PM I'll come pick it up right now.....
;)
NakedDucks 03-11-2006, 05:38 PM hey how many shafts do you need?
Who me?
As many as I can get!!!
shamus 03-12-2006, 06:19 PM i need a 32" long inner shaft 35 spline
Nickm 03-13-2006, 12:41 AM I just wanna see some pics. Can ya email them to me?
Thanks
