How do I tell what year intake I have. I wanted to swap in an 88+ intake manifold for the hp increase. The guy that owned it befor me put in a used engine and he had no idea what year it was built. How can I visually tell wether or not I have a pre '88 or post 88' intake?

Thanks a lot guys

I know the injectors are different but without seeing it I couldnt say, I have had em both side by side and there is little overall...more vaccum lines into it and the injecters....Yea that didnt help much...

Maybe from the VIN on the block, if you can find it.

What kind of hp increase do you expect to get form this?

Just curious, if it's 10-20 I might think about it.

aperantly it is a significant hp increase and a big overal engine running increase. Apperantly it idles better, warms up faster, better throttle response plus a smal hp increase and torque increase.

I was told something about the air flow valve being moved or eliminated on the 88+ intakes. Where is this valve on pre 88's and what does it look like?

Anyone?

thanks

Air flow valve is called the IAC, it is #22230 in the following picture in a 88 down:
