Heavy Metal Toy 04-05-2002, 12:16 AM Got a buddy with an '89 pickup with 22R-E, and the fuel injection is acting up. If he gives it light throttle when accelerating from rest, it will surge, kind of like what happens when a 15 year old girl is first learning how to drive a stick. it will also do this when coasting slowing in gear. Once hard on the throttle, the problem goes away. I hate EFI, it scares me to crap, why is it doing this? Thanks.:usa: mwoodruff 04-05-2002, 07:53 AM Check your engine codes. Arnold 04-05-2002, 08:27 AM It sounds like a bad EGR valve. Try disabling it by pulling/plugging the vacuum line going to it and see if the prob goes away.
