a guy in the local paper advertised a detroit locker for a d44 rear axle. i called and he said it is in the stock axle under the rear of his '67 CJ5. he thinks it is 30 spline but he's not 100%. he currently has 5.13 r&p. he lives about 45 minutes away and i don't want to make the trip if a '67 CJ5 didn't have 30 spline shafts. my application is for a d44 out of a 75 scoutII, 30 spline shafts, 4.88s. so after all that........what is the spline count for a d44 rear from a '67 CJ5? thank you,

CJs didn't get 30 spline shafts until mid '70. '67 would have 19 spline if it is stock. 30 spline shafts are one piece while 10 and 19 spline are two piece like an AMC 20.

It was '72 - '75 that CJ's got 30 spline 1 peice shafts - centered diff.

That's true, but '70.5- '71 had 30 spline 1 piece shafts and an offsett diff. A 30 spline locker would fit either.
