When I bought my CJ, it had a "boat tank" in it. Well, now that I'm officially making the CJ a "3 seater", I'm gonna have to get a "frame mounted" tank.

A buddy of mine has a stock 15 gallon TJ gas tank, think I can use it? I know that it has a fuel pump in it, but I could probably take that out right?

I believe the CJ frame rails are way too narrow to fit a TJ tank.
you want an 87-90 YJ 4-cyl tank and sender, that'll fit, and has EFI provisions in it.
