Tubeshark seems to be a little more for the commerical side. Looking for other companies that offer a home affordable version. Probably just Pro Tools and JD2 makes those?

I found a Radius tube bender on Ebay a couple of weeks back, looked just like a JD2, out of Cananda

well I was just up at Shaffer's Offroad the other day, and they had just finished putting together their new JD model 4. Sweet looking unit.

However when they put in a piece of tubing, and bent it, an oring blew out in the hydraulics, and shot fluid everywhere! took it apart, and it looked like the oring got crushed during assembly. A new oring and it was good to go.

Speedway bender looks good and it comes with hydraulics already setup. Anyone use this or see any problems with it? Going to building my cage, fenders, sliders, etc. for my Jeep.

Thanks!

For one thing - unless I read something wrong the bender says it is sold without die sets - so add the bender to the die set and it costs MORE than the JD2.

And maybe you like that stuff - but do you have any clue how many up-down stroked you would have to have on the bottle jack to bend tube? Looks 20 times worse than a cheater bar on the JD2 fo-sho.

Besides, if you don't mind working a bottle jack, buy a JD2 and use the bottle jack from an engine hoist to operate it. Assuming you have an engine hoist - you get your "manual hydro" and a cheaper bender than the Speedway one.

I see no reason why a person could not buy their $225 die set and build their own bender like theirs...

The only concern I would see is bending without a follower like most of the big name benders use... May be more prone to kinking the tube or deforming it...

Check William's Lowbuck tools, they sell several types. I have a Hossfield, but it is more geared for a fab shop.

That is a JD2 unit they sell. You order from them, and they order from JD2 and have it shipped to you.
