well, i know i'm asking alot, especialy for a newbe, but i was wondering if there is anyone in the san jose area that has a taper reamer, that could re-taper my knuckles, pitman arm, and tie rod to fit the blazer TREs. the parts are off my jeep, and i couldnt find a machine shop around here that could do it. i can leave santa cruz anytime. all my buddies are going to hollister tomarrow, and i have no steering. or, if anyone knows of a machine shop that could do it for a reasonable price, that would be cool.

thanks a bunch,
Jeff

Call a couple of local auto repair shops, get the number of the local Snap-on guy. Call him up and buy the reamer, search the board the part # was just listed. But the part is under 40 bones, about the cost of gas, time, etc.

Just couldn't stand the idea of sleaving your existing rods eh? Remind me again, how many TREs have you broken?:flipoff2:

I actually am using Chevy 3/4 ton TREs. I was referring to your situation. If you'd sleaved your rods you'd be wheeling this weekend! :flipoff2:

i'll be wheeling this weekend, either with stock steering, or with the chevy stuff, it just depends if i can get those holes tapered.

and the snapon guy wont call me back... grrrrr
