Ok guys, in the never ending quest to get a little more flex .(low budget style)
I seem to remember seeing a while back someone talking about removing one of the front radius arm bolts from the axle...??? Tryed to serch.... Would this be something anyone has tryed?? Safe to drive on the street?(just to the trail)
Do I risk breaking anything?? I can see how the front get's bound up when the axle drops......Just wanted to see what you guys had to say...
Thanx....

Oh yea, I spelled it radius when I serched...Hehe...I got to get some sleep.

how cheep do you want? i have a quinn hinged radius arm doing nothing out in the garage. a hinged arm would be alot better than removing a bolt. they're not perfect, but they do give some more flex.

looks like this -

do a search on hinged radius arm. lots of opinions in there. most people agree that they suck. sometimes one or two folks crawl out of the woodwork and admit that on a trail rig they work pretty well for what they're intended to do.

edit: linkage to the D-90 article on the quinn arm:

At a LandRover club trials day on my property I tried to talk some of the Landy owners into removing the left hand front bolt from the radius arm for the event but none of them were interested citing possible damage. A Nissan owner asked me if I would remove his bolt, which I did and he proceeded to trounce the Rovers on all the difficult stages where articulation was an advantage.
