: *LAME* 60 series colors...
60seriesguy 04-05-2002, 12:19 PM One of my biggest pet peeves is that North America got such a *lame* selection of colors in the 60 series. They're more suited for a minivan than a real 4x4! Check these out, wouldn't it be *much* nicer to have colors like these???
60seriesguy 04-05-2002, 12:20 PM Here's another one. I apologize for the poor quality.
60seriesguy 04-05-2002, 12:21 PM One more. Not a 60 series, but a 70 series of the same vintage.
60seriesguy 04-05-2002, 12:22 PM One more...another 70 series, stock color.
Sloan 04-05-2002, 12:25 PM I was thinking of painting my 60 irange but that yellow 60 looks great.:D Several people had suggested yellow here and I :barf: but the application looks good. Hmmmm Earl Scheib has a taxicab yellow color and for...
Mustard Dog 04-05-2002, 12:26 PM Holy exo, Batman:eek:
:D :D
60seriesguy 04-05-2002, 12:30 PM I like yellow 60's a LOT, I wanted to paint mine AA Yellow (LR D90 color) but my wife vetoed. At the time she was paying for the paint job, so there wasn't much arguing...
Orange is really cool, too. Anything but the blah gray (like mine used to be), silver. I guess I just don't like metallic paints much...
DCruiser138 04-05-2002, 12:41 PM ya they sure do like their exos over there!
--- i like the yellow too. very sweet! i get sik of only seeing brown and more brown fj60 series'. i cant think of one 60 ive seen around town besides jeffs white one...thats not brown! we need some crazy 60s man!:rasta:
60seriesguy 04-05-2002, 12:46 PM At the time I painted mine white, it was the logical choice (living in AZ at the time), but I sort of regret it, it looks bland, and there are TOO many big white 60's -Tom Boyd, Tim Coffey, Brian Sullivan, Bill Love, Patman's (RIP), that big diesel one from Norcal (forgot the owner's name), mine, and I'm sure I'm missing half a dozen others...
Next time it's going to be yellow or orange, or a cool green.
DCruiser138 04-05-2002, 12:57 PM when i painted my cruiser blue...i made a paintshop drawing first to see how it would look...and since we are on the subject of painting stuff...your gonna laugh.....:rasta:

Dog House 04-05-2002, 01:02 PM Those 70 series Cruisers sure do grow on ya don't they? I'd take either one.
 Dustin you nut! That is way to fawkin funny. :flipoff2: :D DW's rig looks pimp in dark blue - eh?:rasta: :nuke:

I did that with a 40 I saw on eBay last summer to see if the colors I was thinking about would look alright!!
Medusa 04-05-2002, 01:11 PM Careful Dustin--I hear Wolly Mammoths can be real mean when teased:D :D LOL, I know the two of you have a special relationship.
DCruiser138 04-05-2002, 01:15 PM hey wtf is that supposed to meen?! makes it sound :rainbow: ! lol:flipoff2: :rasta:
BJ On Roids 04-05-2002, 03:41 PM is that a factory 70 series snorkel fitted to a 60?
its definitely the factory (rubbish) snorkel they put on looks ok, just its a 2 piece snorkel and doesnt seal real well and is renowned for cracking and letting water in, thereby becoming useless
iqakfj60 04-05-2002, 04:33 PM
But we do come in Blue.

Aww, his doesn't count. That POS isn't even on the road! :flipoff2:
Hiya Timbo! :D
Mr McGee 04-05-2002, 08:34 PM I think im going with the same TYPE of paint job as dustin--except my blue will be sharper :D, and my orange will be brighter.
whadda ya think?
Sloan 04-05-2002, 10:21 PM You wouldn't happen to have some more pics of that yellow or any other yellow 60s would you? Thanks as always for some cool pics.:D Hey is that an OzzFest sticker on the back of the yellow 60?
RHINO 04-06-2002, 05:27 AM theres a yellow 60 cruising (get it) around here. its got black acc. like roof rack ARB bar rear bumper with ladder, but i dont think it spends much time off road, looks way to clean.

Ok, we pretty much got this color... one of my personal favorite colors for FJ60s.
<img src="http://www.nwcruisers.com/rigs/ken1.jpg">
60seriesguy 04-06-2002, 07:31 AM Here's another yellow FJ62. I got tons of pictures, the biggest problem is having to convert them to less than 60 kb for view here, so bear with me.
60seriesguy 04-06-2002, 07:35 AM Here's one that has a coil suspension conversion in the rear. I'm pretty sure it's an 80 series axle swap.

60seriesguy 04-07-2002, 07:47 AM You mean something like this???
Sloan 04-07-2002, 11:20 AM That's it I'm moving to Venezuela.;) Is there somewhere here I can get one of those roof racks?:)
Sloan 04-07-2002, 12:31 PM So what are the names of those roof racks again?
60seriesguy 04-07-2002, 02:24 PM Most of those are INTI racks. INTI is one of Venezuela's foremost expedition outfitters, but they don't do overseas shipping, and their service is positively Third World style.
It's too bad, they are, IMNSHO, the best possible roof rack you can buy for a Toyota Land Cruiser anywhere in the world.
Sloan 04-07-2002, 02:52 PM Where would I be able to find them in Venezuela? Is this a compnay that distributes them or they manufacture them? Thanks for the info BTW.:)
60seriesguy 04-07-2002, 04:31 PM INTI is located in Caracas, specifically in Boleita, on the northern part of the city at the foot of the Avila mountain, towards the west end of the COTA MIL. I can get you a phone number and an address, but the *only* way to get an INTI roof rack is to buy it yourself RIGHT THERE, or getting yourself a really reliable contact in Caracas who can go pick one up, take it apart for you (they only sell them as complete units, but taking them apart is a cinch), then bundle it up. They pack into two big bundles and a small box and you can actually bring them with you as luggage, my dad did that with mine, but he was NOT happy about it! :)
Sloan 04-07-2002, 04:41 PM How's the political climate there as far as Americans are concerned? Oh yeah and what do they cost?
Rockmonky 04-07-2002, 08:16 PM thanks 60seriesguy
but i was thinking a little more orange
i will try to find the color i want on the net tonight

i hate that it is a Heep color but i like it
what you guys think??
ginericfj80 04-08-2002, 08:25 PM But the US colors can be brightened up a bit. I found some vinyl US flag flames I'd love to put down the side but since it is getting painted this summer that is out of the question.

ginericfj80 04-08-2002, 08:28 PM http://www.nwcruisers.com/FIRE.jpg
Here's what color it is going to be, hopefully in July. I'm thinking about retaining the flag on the hood.
Thanks Ken for putting up the photos for me.
nah, that heep color looks pretty bad.... i don't think it should
look so friggin metalic... more bright and orange... like the
