Basic question... finally getting around to installing a new steering set up. When installing the studs in the top of the knuckle should I use loctite or anything? Any idea of the torque spec for the nuts?

Strip it, then back it off a 1/4 of a turn!:flipoff2:

Wish I could be of some help... I could weld them for you!:rasta: :clown2: :clown2:

I would put locktight on them and a 9/16 stud can take a hell of a lot of torque so don't be afraid.

Runs great - all the way to Tahoe and back and to work up here every day. Finishing the steering and also close to getting the SM420 in. Summer's a coming.......

The clamp values are in in-lbs, the dry and lub are in ft-lbs.

Short answer...use locktite blue (non perm) (242?) and do up to 120 or so.

90 ftlbs on the nuts according to the FSM and yes use locktight

I set mine at a little more then that because I am using the grade eight bolts.
