I got a set of 5in skyjacker, the ride is very stiff. They have 4 leaves, I was wondering if I took out the 3rd leave would it make the springs too soft and sag too much? I don't mind losing some height for a better ride, just don't want them wear out really fast.
Also my shackle is verticle, will removing this leaf allow the shackle to move closer to it's original position? - thanks for the help

That's your problem. search the board for waggies or 44044, your skyjackers will never flex very well, even if you pull a leaf. you can try it if you want to, it may help, but those springs will still suck. oh yeah :flipoff2: welcome newbie!

It's not too late, you can always sell'em and buy another set of springs. Waggys, 44044s, Wrangler springs and All-Pros are very popular, super flexy and ride good. My Wrangler sprung SAS 86 drives like IFS, but with more bumpsteer :p
To answer your original question, yes, taking out a leaf will give you a better shackle angle and most likely a little better ride and flex.
