Ok I have a 89 Cherokee w 5" of lift trimmed out and 33" Swampers (Claws in picture) which I ran in a local tough truck,.. but with the Highriders competittion ( http://www.highriders.ca/hrc_index.htm ) coming up on July 1st weekend I am thinking I should up grade to 8" of lift , 35" tire and a locked rear,..

Currently I have a D30 up fron and a Drum 31 spline Exploder 8.8 in the rearwith a modified suspension set up,... I am thinking some extra width may be adventageous,.. but need a coomonly found upgrade for both to make sure I am not breaking in the competition,..
Any suggestions on a few upgrades?

How about wheel spacers and chromo shafts with super joint in the d30?

Has crossed my mind but the concern is cost,..as this has been and will be a budget built truck I need to find the best places to invest the little $$$ I have for this project,..

If you are seriously going to keep jumping that XJ, you might want to look into trussing both axles. I would throw a lunchbox locker in the back and run it. If you stay with 33", you could get away with a lunchbox locker up front if you upgrade to 297/760 shafts from a late model. Hell even with the 33 those 260's joints are gonna hate you.

HAHAHAHAHAHA The whole truck hates me,.. not just the diff,.. already went through some stock "links" they are all boxed in now,.. KO'd the PS mount,.. its laminated and reinforced now, trussing WILL happen before the July 1st comp..... been running 33" swampers on the trail all last season,.. but this year it will be wheeling and comp's I was thinking some FSJ Diffs ,.. or EB diffs (good luck) as they are just slightly wider than the stock ones,... what else would go in without getting too wide and arn't stupid to get gears for,...?
