I am giving up on the truggy and building a ford-jeep.
I am going to transplant my 460/435 and T case into a jeep body and frame.I am going to use my solid D44 and 9 inch.I plan to run 38.5/1450R15 swamper SXs.

Q...I was thinking of running new stock shafts in the front with 5-760 Joints. Will this hold or do I need a stronger shaft?
What is involved in a larger shaft for the 9 inch?Do I need the 40 spline or would the 35 upgrade hold?Do they make spools for these bigger shafts?

If you have a thought on a part please give the APX price to.I would appreciate it,thanks,Will.

You will brake the u-Joints in the 44, upgrade shafts and u-joints and it may still break.

31 spline rear would probably hold-up, 35 spline rear would hold fer sure.

31 spline rear, chromo's and $$$$U joints would handle 37's but would stil be breakable.

IMHO but search foo!

I broke the 760x in my front end of my f-150, busted the yokes up too. I know your jeep will be plenty lighter than my fullsize, but will also have way more motor. If you do keep the 44 and want to upgrade, the best price I found for Yukon chromo axles and u-joints was at Bronco Graveyard. They sell a axle kit that comes with inners/outers and spicer 760x joints. I wanted the yukon superjoints though so after talking to them on the phone they added the superjoints to the kit instead of the spicers. Total after shipping was $622.00 That was friday, I am now waiting for them to get here :( so I can start wheelin again. Dont know how other chromoly axles compare, I was just buying based on price and what I know other people are running.
