i just wanna see what you guys think. its already done and i like the performance, just really want to know what reliability issues to look out for now.

If you welded them properly, the only thing you should have to worry about is excessive tire wear. You might also be more prone to shaft breakage and carrier disintegration. Mine is welded in the rear, I like it.

some people like them, some people dont, when they break, they take the entire axle assembly with them!!! i would never.....and i mean never do it!! but to each his own!! :D

How do you figure that they will take out the whole entire axle assembly? One of my welded rears broke (it was in a big FJ55) and it just took out the spiders. The carrier, shafts, and R&P were all fine. The repair was just to re-weld them.

Yep, that thing is filled and thats a bead around the outer gear too. I've had friends break theirs (more than once) but haven't had any problems with mine.

welded gears are the way to go as long as you dont run any larger tire than a 33. I ran welded diffs for two years with out any problems when i went to 35's a broke two of them. Oh if you blow one up dont drive around on it or the broken pieces will round your axle splines.

I run 35"s welded up and they're fine. Of course I do have Toy axles. I'm not sure what a welded Zuki axle can take, but I know the Toy axle is good up to some pretty big meats, especially under a light Sami.

I was talking about zuk diffs im sure with toy diffs you could run larger than 35's

I've been running mine welded front and rear for a year now, and I haven't had a problem. Mine were welded by a guy that welds for a living, so their done right. Just my .02:beer:

my sami is welded but I dont drive it on the street but I welded up my buddy''s yota a month a go and you can visibly see the tire wear already. these arent soft tires either. for the street I would pay for a locker and save your tires. you can always weld the front though. If you do weld it you can use any welder you have access to I used a mig. just make sure you make it nice and hot.
