first pull everything, cut off your stock motor mounts flush to the frame. Then blot in your saddle mount for the chevy v8. its really easy. But a bell houseing conversion from advanced adapotrs and if you are going to reuse the jeep trany you will need a 153 tooth chevy flywheel and starter not he 168 tooth. The drive shafts will need to be resided (longer in the rear shorter in the front). The hole in the floor for the shifter will need to he largened to fit the levers. then the onlythingis wiring. . . just use a test light to figure out what needs power when such as all the time, ignition on, or starter. it will be about 30-40 hours of work

I'm running the advanced adaptors 350 conversion kit with a TH350 tranny and their adaptor for the 231. You'll want to get the 3core rad for the 6 cyl. motor and a ford Taurus electric fan if you want to keep it cool and not spend unneccessary cash. I'm swapping in a 205 T-case soon and will be getting rid of the adaptor. Send me a PM with email address and I'll shot you some info and pics. I'm using a B$M shifter for the tranny so the hole in the floor is no problem.

Sounds like you still have a lot of reading to do. I would start with reading the Novak knowledge base and going from there.

If you need to search stuff here, you can always go to google and type in your key words followed by site:pirate4x4.com.

When you figure out what you want to run parts wise, then you can get into asking some more detailed questions.

I myself run a Vortec 350 with an SM465 attached, coupled with a Dana 300 using an adapter from Advanced Adapters. Another bit of advice would be to find a local club and start asking the 350 guys what they are running and how they like it. :)

Manual transmissions are fine behind small blocks. Just make sure you use one of the better manuals. No "A series" trannies, like the AX-5 or 15 should be put behind a V8. Something like a T-18 would work well or the 465 mentioned above. I have a T-18b out of a 1977 CJ7 with a SBC adapter for sale if you're interested. It's currently mated to a Dana 20 TC. Asking $500 for the tranny and the adapter which includes a clutch. I could be persuaded to sell the TC too. PM me if you're interested.

In addition to the Novak Knowledge Base, they also sell a complete swap manual.

Edit to add pics.
