never heard of that before.. even in abusive situations. sure that it just isnt the bolts that came loose for the rear portion of the frame?? I duno.. worst i have ever heard is the front axle mounts on the frame breaking off after like 130k miles.. so how did this happen? heck I havent even seen them make U's after HARD wrecks.. what happened??

im not 100 % sure.. it had 187000 on it.. i used it as a work truck and it was the frame that bent.. every bodyshop i took it too said itwas totaled.. . i was driving down the interstate pulling a 20 foot trailer witha shoreing box on it..
next i know the truck started running real hard. and i pulled over and it looked like a large u.

Of all the dodges that I have encountered through my years as a parts person, I've never heard of this before. There are Companys in the oilfields that run these trucks hard. Yours must be an isolated case. Sorry to hear that happen.

very very wierd.. was it a half ton? I am assuming so since you said it was a short bed.. and was it a reg cab short bed? How did it do pulling a trailer like that? I think maybe it is time for a one ton.. I am really diggin the 2003 Ram crew cab with the 300 hp 550 ft lb diesel motor.... and either a 4 speed or 5 speed AUTO or a 5 speed or 6 speed manual.. seems like a killer rig from I was reading..

it pulled the trailer fine. the shoring box only weighs maybe 1500 punds.. and the truck had pulled my race car.. my jeep.. a trailer with 5 r 6 motocycles on it.. and never given me a problem.. it just scares me to invest 35+ grand in to a rig that might be junkin afew years.. im thinking new duramax or powerstroke.. the new tonka to power stroke would be killer.. but we have to wait and see thanks for the input/

Never heard of such a thing. I have had over 2 tons in the bed of my 1/2 ton and the worst thing was that my cab faring rubbed the cargo light till it was unloaded, then I have the 1/2" clearance same as before. Maybe you had a freak frame. I would be pissed too.:mad3:
