The factory rear disc brake setup on newer TJ's look an awful lot like the factory rear disc brake setup on an Explorer 8.8; has anyone tried to put the 8.8 setup on a TJ Dana 44?

I had the Explorer disc brakes on my old D44 rear. The axle ends were the Ford big bearing type.

buddy of mine has the 8.8 disc's on his 44 also.. it's out of a xj i think

ZJ and explorer rear disc brakes are almost identical and since ZJ brakes are almost bolt on, explorer brake should be as well.

edit: on second thought, I don't think the backing plates have the same bolt pattern. I can't remember if its possible to redrill the plates.
