I don't see how it can be done with a stock 350 block. You have to notch the heck out it(oil pan rail and bottom of the bore) to make it a 383 and cam clearence could be a problem. I can't see the crank clearing the cam, even with a small base cam. Not to mention, you would have to notch the block half way through the oil pan rail and then in the cylinder. I don't think it would work good. Sounds really expensive. Then you still have a stock block. Upgrade to a Dart or World block I say. You could make 500 Hp easy with a fresh 350 supercharged and still run pump gas.

407??? Never heard of that. 406 is just a overbored 400 but I don't think you'll be able to get 407 CI out of a stock 350 block. (L98 is just a factory designation for that particular 350) The cylinder walls are to thin to bore it out to the stock 400 spec, (4.125), let alone .030 more.

Building it for a 383 stroker, (400crank), wouldn't be to much of a problem. There might be some block grinding required but not much.
I built a 305 stroker a few years back and it needed a little grinding but not much. (305 block, pistons/400 crank, rods. 328 CI)

If you're planning on keeping the stock TPI, I don't think those will flow enough for that kind of power anyway.

Could you be more specific in what the question is? Do you have a 407? An L98 is a 91 Vette motor. If it is stock, I can make a little bit more responsive through prom programming, but I doubt you'll ever make a full 500 HP with just a supercharger in stock form. Why do you need that much anyway. That motor should have just enough power to break almost all of the drivetrain anyway. Also, Corvette's did come with the large distributor. It's Camaro's that used the smaller one with the remote mounted coil.

I have a stock 350 l98... good info... the link I posted above is to rpm machine. He sounds very smart... they did the kit for a sbc in a 93 blazer and howell did the chip... I just ordered an upgrade chip to my specs for the stock app from Howell. Very cool guys. The guys at RPM said I have to fit every piston to the block ... its a 4 inch stroke rod with .30 over. Sounds like what I want but looking for feed back... mabye the 383 is enough with the supercharger... Howell can build the chip for it no problem... But When Speaking with RPM If I 2.02 the heads ect.. roller motor with there kit and cam Ill get 500hp on pump gas. I dont know .. I do know I want that much sauce for the sand and snow... I just got paddles for the rear...

All this stems from watching the Formula guys... 850 plus horse gives me goose bumps... I like driving with horsepower and can handle way more than what I have. I am pushing the WB out to ...

Vortec heads with big valve springs. Big roller cam and stroke for 383. AFR make some great heads if you want aluminum. The stock l98 heads are ok, but the stock Vortecs work better. A few places make a intake for tpi on vortec heads.

With a supercharger, pump gas may not be an option.
